Hammersmith and Shepherd´s Bush

I also found in my literature review that over 50 local schools took-part in the mural competition to have their paintings sprayed onto the construction hoardings (in Hammersmith Park) when TVC was being refurbished. The schools were very enthusiastic to be involved in anything TVC-related. Paxman (2018) claims TVC staff were fed-up with shopping at Shepherd's Bush market and couldn't wait to move out of White City and I have read about former staff wanting more than Shepherd's Bush Market to buy their lunch from, but there are many people for whom a trip to TVC would not be complete without a long and steady walk down that market from top to bottom.  On a personal level, a visit to TVC wouldn't feel quite right without a trip to that market and then the charity shops on Shepherd's Bush Green. I actually got many of my core texts such as the Dyke autobiography and a small book on the letters that viewers sent to Blue Peter from those shops! In addition, the Local Historic Building group has enlightened me on their interest in the building itself and its connection to the area rather than what went on inside.
